De luppar jag använder i Urmakarskolan är 1.5, 2.5 och 10 gångers förstoring.
Glaset är mycket hög kvalité, och om det fungerar för blivande urmakare utan problem så är det helt onödigt som "entusiast" (Icke Urmakare) att ha detta kit från Hodinkee.

Jag rekommenderar en öppen lupp där man får in bra med ljus. Visar bara bilder snodda från Google på typ av lupp, märkena vet jag inget om.

Please forgive me for stepping into this discussion - I hope it is allowed for me to post here, since it is our product which is being discussed... :)

I am not going to repeat here the information we have on our web site, except to say that our loupes, using 5 optical glass elements in their construction, are closer to camera lenses than to any of the loupes mentioned above (which only use one). Of course, any car will get you from point A to point B, just like any loupe will magnify a given object, but how clearly/sharply that is done is where the difference lies.

Many Swiss watch brands have adopted our loupes for internal quality control or for use in their own stores, and auction houses such as Christie's have adopted them as their reference loupes for doing valuations. Surely, all such people would not have been swayed just by marketing talk, if there was with no substance behind it? ;)

Regardless, please do not take my word (or theirs) on it! Do go to Fredmans Ur and try one out for yourself, and compare it to whatever loupe you are using now. Otherwise, if you will be in Basel next March, please stop by our booth (Hall 2.0, Booth C.03) as test them there. According to past experience, very few people who have actually used one have not ended up buying one eventually...
