Hej!

Jag sitter och tittar på min gammelfarfars klocka som tyvärr inte går längre. Är det någon av er vintagerävar som vet om någon i Stockholm med omnejd skulle ge sig på att reparera en sån här? Vet inte när den är ifrån, men familjen tror sent 40-tal. Kanske någon som vågar sig på en gissning?

Congratulations on a lovely family owned vintage Heuer appaz & well done for asking advice here on where to get it serviced ( instead of taking it to the corner jewellery shop that do nothing more than change batteries on 80's digitals :confused: ).
The forum will help you find a good place to service it but i will let you know a little about the model.
You are correct that its from the late 1940's, most probably a model 406. It has a Valjoux.23 movement which was a very high quality engine at the time. It requires a bit of specialist understanding during service but once dealt with correctly you can expect very reliable time keeping from it. Please be aware that even after a service you should not consider it waterproof , they just weren't designed for it back in those days. Another thing to be wary of, dont play golf or use a hammer while the chronogragh is running, it can cause the chrono drive train to jump out of place and lock the chrono.

My advice is to have the mechanical movement serviced, the plastic crystal polished and the rubber seals on the caseback, crown & pushers replaced. DONT replace any parts. DONT have the dial or hands re-lumed & definately DONT have the stainless steel case polished. This will leave you with an honest & fuctioning family treasure.
I have a similar model Heuer from the same era but with a different movement - note mine has 3 registers instead of 2.
