Inofficiella Traska-tråden: "For those who know"

Här kommer två på min nya kärlek. Jävligt mycket bättre än jag väntat mig. 36an, förr-förra generationen.

En liten fråga: min Traska 3:e generation är limiterad men jag ser ingenstans på näret hur många som tillberkades. Någon som vet?

Vad är det för Traska, vilket utförande?
Generellt så kan det vara mycket få exemplar av limiterade traska, Limiterade på riktigt. 5 eller 10 ex. som sålts av vissa. Kan finnas de som gjorts fler av.
 
Lär ge Traskas kundservice ytterligare ett plus i kanten. Jag frågade för ett tag sen om jag kunde få köpa en extra länkbit till min Freediver. Traska bjöd på den länkbiten och skickade med FedEx i vanlig ordning.
Det som hände är att på paketet så stod det att innehållet var en stainless steel mechanical wristwatch istället för endast en länkbit. Så jag fick en nota från FedEx på 1800 kr. Det slutade dock med att Traska stod för kalaset och jag vill ge en stor eloge till Gabrielle på Traska för en ypperlig kundservice. Det som från början var en generös gest från dom blev lite tokigt, men i slutänden så blev det bra :)

Sometimes, while walking around a crowd of people—in an airport, for example—I recognize somebody solely because of their watch. Their face, clothes, suitcase; none of that registers with me. But the watch? Oh yeah. I recognize that Speedmaster Reduced. I saw that while boarding the flight to Atlanta. Now, in a different terminal, waiting for my burrito bowl, there it is again, that leather strap and patinated bezel snatch my gaze across the crowded room.

That’s the kind of thing my mind does, and yours probably does too. And at some point, you maybe realized you were the only person in your family or friend group who’s like this. And that’s why it’s exciting and comforting sometimes to hang out with other watch nerds in person, as I did last week at the Windup Watch Fair in New York. Yes, you are my people, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still surprise me.​

You see, I expected the biggest draw at our booth to be the Jump Hour. Over two years of development had led us to the one prototype I had in my possession; still very much a work-in-progress, but much more than just an idea. My expectation was that this watch would steal the show — or the slice of the show that took place at the TRASKA booth — and our other pieces would languish outside the limelight.

That isn’t quite how it went down.

Don’t get me wrong, the Jump Hour prototype elicited all the gasps and ‘oohs’ I was yearning for. It also earned some valuable feedback that has already led to some design changes. (Every watch we’ve ever made has been the result of dialogue with this community, and those who have their say, by showing up at a fair, commenting on Instagram, replying to an email, or chatting to me on the phone, leave their fingerprints on our creations.)

But did it steal the show? Not exactly.

People came to the TRASKA stand alone, but many brought friends, bemused people who’d not quite heard of us, dragged by the arm. “You’ve got to see the Commuter!” one would say. “Oh this is the Venturer GMT I was telling you about!” They’d pause for a moment at the Jump Hour (and the other surprise piece we’ll share more about soon), but then return to the Summiteer or Freediver that had called their name in the first place.

And at first, this worried me. Was the Jump Hour not as groundbreaking and exciting as I expected? But over a couple of Negronis with a friend, he put my mind at ease. “TRASKA is a bit like an indie band,” he said, “the band gets excited about their new tracks, but the fans are always going to want to hear the classics.”

I like how that sounds.

The Freediver, Summiteer, and Commuter will all be returning in late November. The Freediver and Summiteer (in 36 and 38) will be just as you remember them. The Commuter (also in 36 and 38 mm) will be sporting a couple of never-before-seen colorways.

We’ll be sharing the precise restock date, as well as the new line-up of Commuter colorways, as soon as we can. (PSA from Gabrielle: “Please tell people they don’t have to write and ask whether this or that colorway is coming back. We’ll be updating the website as soon as the new photos are ready, and all will be revealed very soon”).

Meanwhile, and as always, thank you for being here. For pushing us forward. For having the power to surprise after almost eight years. And for reminding us of where we came from. The adventure of creation is always intoxicating, but we’ll never stop cherishing those original pieces that put us on the map.

Boetten borde väl behöva vara lite tjockare på jump hour tycker jag så exakt samma gissar jag det inte är, men man vet aldrig. Kanske de lyckas trycka ihop innanmätet. Vore roligt om det blev något lite annorlunda.

Har visats ljus och mörk tavla. Båda med sunburst på minuttavlan. Ytterkanten på tavlan ser halvtransparent ut. Men det är prototyper så inget slutgiltigt än så länge antar jag.
