...
I called the parallel boutique in Grand Hotel and landed on a nicer, more chatty, salesperson. He confirmed that they expect 15-16 pieces to be delivered in Geneva under 2019 and hinted that the 5 years suggested by his colleague may be too long.

The wife been pushing for a Geneva trip for a while, and with the slick tongue of the AP rep the trip is now booked for January with the intention to shake hands and get on the list!
....
....

I was there this weekend, and the experience was quite disgusting:

First, as you know, I contacted the boutique in Geneva, which suggested the waiting lines for a 15202ST could align with my expectations. However, the sales representative also mentioned that he will not take orders over phone as he would like to get to know the customer and know that he is serious - not just someone calling around and listing in 20 different boutiques.
Fair enough I said and booked the flight immediately. All seemed nice and dandy when he even texted me over NYE to say "Happy 2019 Mr.MB, looking forward to seeing you". I was excited!

Unfortunately, when we got there its was a whole different story. We were met by the same person but with a smug Douchebag (with a capital D!) attitude.
The entire conversation (which didn't last longer than 5 minutes) was all about getting us to take a 15400ST instead and a 15450ST for the wife.
And it wasn't done in a very sophisticated way either, rather than in kindergarten level daunting techniques - emphasizing over and over "Other clients come in here, take a Chronograph and a 41MM plus a 37 for the wife. What, can't MR. afford this?"

I tried to take this conversation back on track, to the 15202ST that I STRICTLY came in for, explaining this isn't about money - I just want that piece as a first and willing to wait 2 years as suggested over the phone - the reason I flew in especially. Then possibly a 15450 for the wife (after, and not as a ransom).

In a moment of weakness I asked to see the 39MM 15300ST. You want to guess the answer to that? "nooo, you don't want that, this size is too feminine for you, you want the 41!"
Yes, to answer your questions about the 15400ST - this definitely gave me the feeling that AP are stressed to get rid of these quick. Why would he call a 39MM 15300ST feminine but the thinner 39MM 15202 is the "most iconic most manly piece we have"?:depressed:

At this point he stated "well, if you cannot afford or insist on not buying anything else there is not much I can do for you, i will put you on list but don't get your hopes up", followed by him showing us to the door!:woot::woot::woot:
This all took no longer than 5 minutes to go down, in and out. We were "lucky" enough to get a business card though! I was in complete shock by this disgusting "bait & switch".

I have to say that after having this experience at AP with a booked meeting I flew in especially for, comparing that with the fantastic service that Vacerhon Constantin and Patek Philippe gave us as complete walk-ins from the street (showed us around, explained the history, took out every single piece we even whispered a "oh" for and explaining about it, etc.) .... I'm not sure I want to do business with this brand anymore.

I would not buy anything from that store or the brand. Even more embarrassing for the sales person that made you book a flight to get this shitty experience.

Strange. I went to the AP Boutique in New York the other week and my experience was pretty much the opposite of yours. The manager (!) showed me pretty much everything they had in at the time and allowed me to sign up for any model of my choosing. 2yr for 15202 and 3mos for 15400. He was also more than willing to give me his business card.

I would definitely forward this to the management, it clearly is not acceptable.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I myself have been to the boutique in Geneva and had quite a good experience so I would advice you not to discard the whole brand or the boutique. When I was there I got a nice tour in the boutique similar to the one you mentioned at Patek, also got served champagne and some nice treats (this without me buying anything).
