There is absolutely no real Oud in this or any of the so called Oud fragrances in this or any other designer perfume house, here in the US and in Europe, It’s all cheap oud accords, aka fake Oud they created in a lab. There is also no Oud in ANY of Tom Fords “Oud” perfumes. I know this for a fact. Oud is very expensive, even the low end farmed Oud is more expensive than the brands are willing to pay and then they would have to charge double or even triple the price per bottle. And most customers won’t pay. The big dirty perfume industry secret…there is no real Oud in 99% of all Western perfumes. Same for European perfumes . There you go, I just let out the big secret. Well one of the perfume industries secrets.
Oh and another thing, it’s the same with rose and most florals, especially Orris root and Iris. All VERY VERY expensive notes to use so they almost all use accords . Once you smell an authentic rose Oud perfume, your eyes will roll back into your head with pleasure as the smell is that amazing. You will NEVER forget that smell and like me, you’ll be chasing it down to buy it. You will also be able to tell right away if a certain perfume contains real Oud or rose or both. And as you smell all of the many popular so called rose Oud perfumes sold now days, you’ll sadly realize that they are using oud rose accords. And not real rose oil and no oud. These perfume houses are out to make money off us. If you want the real thing then go to India and the Middle East . But unless you know someone who can guide you, you will get ripped off there too. Tom Fords perfumer wouldn’t know real Oud if it bit him in the ass and held out a huge sign saying “I am the real deal”! ….lol
TF Oud wood is such a piece of cheap fake oud shit and made of cheap mass appealing ingredients and if you ppl knew just how overpriced it really is, you’d feel like an idiot for wasting so much money on a hyped up chemical mess they call
Oud. I really don’t care that TF and Dior and the rest of them put out fake Oud. What pisses me off is that they lie to mislead the public by calling it Oud when there isn’t a drop of Oud anywhere in their perfume. THAT is disrespectful to the perfumers who actually go out there and risk their lives to get the most beautiful and rare Oud that money can buy and then they seek out the most beautiful rose oil sellers and use actual Mysore sandalwood, and authentic Siberian deer musk instead of the garbage white musk they all use, and they use the most precious, creamy and beautiful Mysore sandalwood money can buy, not the fake crap they use as sandalwood or that cheap Australian sandalwood. No they use the best and make a perfume worthy of a Queen and STILL charge less than TF Oud wood crap that y’all love so much. I’ve smelt it, it’s garbage. Oud Isaphan, also garbage. But if it were priced at $30 a bottle, which is what they’re worth, I wouldn’t mind. But the greedy big perfume houses are charging an obscene amount for cheap accords. You are paying for the fancy bottle that says TOM FORD or DIOR on it, not for the crap perfume inside. The same fancy bottle that will go in the garbage when your perfume is used up. Unless you’re a hoarder, and in that case, you have more serious problems…If you want to get a taste of what a true rose Oud perfume should smell like, buy from Areej Le Dore, or Ensar Oud. Then again, maybe you’d better not, because once you fall down this rabbit hole…..there’s no turning back. Once you smell the best, you will junk the rest. Some of you know exactly what I’m saying…
“Odor profile: A pathological secretion of the aquillaria tree, a rich, musty woody-nutty scent that is highly prized in the Middle East. In commercial perfumery, it's safe to say all "oud" is a recreated synthetic note.”
