The end links sits perfect on my 14270. Actually they sit more perfect than any other non-SEL oyster bracelet I've seen. Same end links as on the DJ 162XX running from 1989 to 2004/5 when the 1162XX was introduced.

It is exactly the same case as on the Datejust 36mm.

When I think about it I read something similar, but it said that it is more difficult to fit a strap to the 114270 than to the 14270 since the space between the link and the case is fairly small. Now, I know a lot of people have their Explorers on different types of straps, but if you look closely and compare the two models you will see that there is a difference in fit.

Anyway. I don't understand why they did this since I guess the new style Oyster and Jubilee is compatible backwards to the older DJ models, but for the 114270 a separate bracelet must be manufactured.

Perhaps I missed something... but I am pretty certain.

Also. My 14270 is my favourite amongst my Explorers, but from time to time I debate with myself whether I should ad an 114270 to "complete" my modern collection of Explorers. Silly, I know ;-)

Best,

A
