These model 2447's are super rare & add the fact that they are powered by the Valjoux.72 & are considered the forerunner of the Carrera they are highly sought after over on the Heuer forum. I had actually guessed this one to go for somewhere in the 28-30k range so a good buy for some lucky bidder.

Here's my one complete with the even rarer original box

I missed it.. Was sitting in the car on the highway when the bidding started.. When it was down on 10k I placed a bid on 18 and it started to increase quickly the last 10sek.. when I was putting a final bid in there was a problem with the connection on the phone so I ended up on second place. Was going to put 25k in the end.. Some watches isn't meant to be I guess..

Do you think that the value should be around 28-30k or was that still a good price?

Oh man, i'm sorry to hear that. One day i'll tell you a couple of bid nightmare stories of my own from the past - grrr , internet connections !!!

Yes i definately see this at or over the 30k sek mark. They are particularly popular amongst the French & Italian collectors on the OTD forum. Its the purity of design & the genuine reach to the "origin of the species" the collectors are chasing. There is no doubt these 2447's from the late 40's & upto late 50's are the earliest "wearable" chrono's with a link to the more famous sports watches by Heuer of the 60's.
Have you seen how keen the Rolex collectors are on their "pre-Daytona's" , well same deal here.
Even the model number , 2447 is the same as the first Carrera's that were to follow upto 15 years later.

Well, it was 2 years ago & noone has a crystal ball to see the future but ... well yes thats worth more these days too. The model 2444 is desirable because of the dauphine hands. Its a real link to the all too crazy priced first series 2446 Autavia's produced 3 years later than your watch.

I'm not sure how to approach this particular topic as i will shortly be placing this one up for sale - i dont want to be seen as trying to manipulate the market so i will think about price & then place a sales listing.
