Vad tillverkar jag shimsen av? Köper koppartejp? Foliepapper? Aluminiumburk? Har aldrig gjort det 😊
Tänker att jag kan testa mig fram med bladmått först för att se vad för tjocklek som behövs? Klämma fast under balansen och skriva åt?

Balance Cock Shim

  • Vostok uses shims of different thicknesses for all their 24xx movements
  • each movement must have a slight amount of space or 'play' between the Balance Pinion and the Balance Jewels
  • when the movements are manufactured, this space is slightly different for each movement due to less than perfect machining tolerances
  • this space is often manufactured too small to allow the Balance to move freely
  • a shim lifts up the Balance Cock to create more space to allow the Balance to move freely
  • the thickness of the shim determines the amount of space or play
  • Vostok assemlers choose a specific shim thickness to create the optimal amount of space to allow the Balance to move freely -- but not excessively loose or too tight
  • excessive or insufficient space or play for the Balance will cause premature wear, damage, and timing problems
  • a shim that is too thin could cause the Cock to act as a clamp on the Balance and completely prevent it turning. The jewels and pinion could be damaged.

  • the thickness of the shim is therefore very important and must be matched carefully to each movement

hmm... "often" är ett ord jag reagerar på här. Inte alla urverk har någon shims i verket. Har inte kolla hur många som har respektive inte har i mina Vostok.

Har du hittat något 24xx verk utan shims? :oops: Jag har nog plockat isär över ett hundratal 24xx verk och alla har haft minst ett balans shims :)
Spännande om du hittat något för det har jag aldrig sett 👍

Hmm.. bra fråga, har inte riktigt koll skulle jag säga, kan ju blanda ihop med andra urverk, t.ex. 22xx.

Men är hyfsad säker på att inte alla mina 24xx verkligen har någon shims, men kan ha fel. Dock kan det ju faktiskt vara felaktigt att de inte har en shims, men fungerar ändå.

Får ta och polcka ur balansen på några fungerande och kolla!

Kan man fix toleransen med att justera stenarna? Iofs lättare med shims.

Stenarna är nog inte justerbara på 24xx utan det är shims i olika tjocklek som är lösningen.

Det är sådant här som gör att man inser hur lite man faktiskt kan och vet, men att det finns massa nytt och lära!!!
